I was told Davido is their Member That’s Why I Joined Them, an Aiye member who was said to be an Upcoming musician confessed after Lagos State Police arrested them.
The Lagos State Police Command arrested over 27 suspected cultists said to be Aiye boys gang from different places of Lagos State and they were all detained.
An upcoming musician and member of the Aiye Cult identified as Adegoke who was among those arrested confessed that he joined the gang believing he will get popular and get to meet Popular Nigerian singer, Davido and his life and status will change as he was told by the member of the same gang who initiated him.
According to him he was deceived by the members as they told him he will get to meet Davido if he joined the group that Davido is their Member, he was initiated with the thought of meeting Davido and he will become a star too.
But over two years of joining the Aiye gang, Davido has not shown up not for once, he was deceived by the members, as he confessed, he said;
“I am an Aiye boys cult member. I have been in the cult for over two  years. I was told that Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido was a member and if I joined them, I will be able to meet with him.
“It was one of the guy who initiated me into the cult that told me Davido was their member. He said he worked for the singer and that it will be easy access for me to get to meet Davido.
“But since I joined, I have not met the singer, Davido for once. They deceived me and told me I will become a very popular musician meeting Davido but see where I am now.
“I am renouncing my membership of Aiye Cult. I will never belong to any cult again. They should look at my face very well. From today henceforth they will never see me in their midst again.
“I lived at Oniru in Lekki and I used to be a domestic help. Since I joined the gang, I have not done anything bad. I haven’t killed anybody. I just wanted to be a famous musician that’s why I joined them following what they told me but I didn’t know I was deceived.
After confessing this to the Nigerian Police Force, Adegoke urged other aspiring musicians to be patient, adding that he regretted being on the fast lane, he said that if he had remained steadfast, he would not have landed into trouble.
Another suspect, Biodun Alade, 22, said he joined his own group about four months ago, adding that the tear drop tattoo on his left eye was not a cult symbol.
However, several others denied being cultists, insisting they were arrested during random raids carried out by policemen in their neighbourhoods.
