The Elected Governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun has disclosed why all Nigerian governors agreed to 14days inter-state movement restriction. He stated that the essential reason was to curtail inter-state spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

Gov. Dapo Abiodun said that the 14days inter-state lockdown will make it less difficult for states to do more of contact-tracing.

The Ogun state governor made this known via his verified social media account as he gave some explanations in a submit on his Instagram page on Thursday.

Abiodun added that the inter-states 14days lockdown decision _ tallies with the earlier role of his management. Disclosing that Nigerian Governors held a virtual closed door meeting.

He said “all shared measures followed in our individual states to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. We at the same time determined to shut our interstate borders nationwide throughout the 2 preliminary weeks in a bid to slash the inter-state spread of the virus and enhance our capacity to better deal with contact-tracing.

The governors on Wednesday, 23rd-April-2020 Announced the Governors decision after receiving a briefing from the governors of Lagos, Bauchi, Oyo and Ogun states who shared their stories and lessons.

A communiqué by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) Chairman and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, speak on the spread of the virus amongst medical experts.
