The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammedu Buhari has on Saturday received the covid-19 vaccine developed in Madagascar.
According to Bashir Ahmed, the Personal Assistant to the President Muhammadu Buhari on Media he this known on Saturday 16th-may-2020.
Following the recent report, Bashir Ahmed stated that, Muhammadu Buhari reiterated that his Government will listen to science before allowing any Medicines to be given to the citizens.
In his tweet he wrote;
The Nigeria President @MBuhari has Received the Madagascan Native formulation against the COVID-19 pandemic. The president reiterated that he will listen to Science before allowing traditional formulation or any new medicines to be administered on Nigeria citizens.He tweeted.
The President further explained that, Nigeria has it own institutions and medical practitioners, there are systems and processes that must be followed in our country before we will allow any kind of formulations, they need to be verified by our own specialists.
We have our Institutions, Systems and Processes in the country. Any such Formulations should be sent to them for Verification. I will not put it to use without the Endorsement of Our Institutions.He concluded.
Meanwhile, Informationnaija reported that, the Ogun state governor has extended the inter-state Covid-19 lockdown till 24th-May-2020 because the state residents are not cooperating with the preventing directives imposed by the Federal Government To help fight the spread of the virus.
